Theopetra Cave Documentation and Education Center

At the Theopetra Cave Documentation and Education Center (K.T.E.S.T.) findings from the excavations are exhibited, while in a special room* the visitor has the opportunity through educational applications to become familiar with the concepts of archeology and in particular prehistory .
Through the stations of the exhibition, visitors will see:

  • what is an archaeological dig

  • how the presence of prehistoric cave dwellers was imprinted in the soil

  • what kinds of people lived in prehistoric Theopetra and what materials they used

  • what are the first prehistoric jewelry like

  • how our ancestors perceived the passage from life to death

  • what species of plants and animals made up the cave's prehistoric environment

  • what a typical Neolithic household was like

*The room of educational applications is available for groups of visitors after telephone consultation with K.T.E.S.TH.
